Key Scripture
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” — John 10:27 (NKJV)
Reflection
For years, I thought I knew Jesus. Like many, I went to church, lit candles, made the sign of the cross, and said the prayers I was taught. I respected tradition but didn’t yet grasp the relationship behind it. My thoughts were fleeting, and my heart was distant. I knew about Him, but I didn’t know Him.
Everything changed when I began reading God’s Word for myself. The pages were alive. Scriptures I’d heard before suddenly spoke directly to my heart. The more I read, the more I realized He was never far — He had been waiting for me to listen.
Now, knowing Him means more than belief; it’s daily life. It’s prayer that feels like conversation, Scripture that feels like guidance, and grace that restores me even in the smallest thoughts. I don’t follow a set of rituals anymore — I follow a living Savior.
If you’ve grown up around faith but feel distant from Jesus, there’s no need to complicate it. The world will tell you to chase fulfillment everywhere else, but here’s the truth: nothing satisfies the heart like Christ. Once you start living in Him and from Him, guided by the Holy Spirit, even the smallest window of His light outshines everything the world can offer.
Today’s Steps
- Read John 10 aloud and listen for the tenderness in Jesus’ words.
- Spend five quiet minutes talking to Him — not a recited prayer, but a conversation.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to help you know Jesus personally, not just intellectually.
Prayer
“Jesus, thank You for calling me by name and teaching me to know Your voice. Draw me closer each day through Your Word and Your Spirit. Let my life be built on relationship, not routine. Amen.”
