Key Scripture
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance.” (Isaiah 55:2 NKJV)
Reflection
For years I thought I was chasing truth, but I was only running in circles. I crossed borders, started new lives, filled shelves with philosophy and spirituality books, and listened to teachers who claimed to hold hidden wisdom. Each promise of enlightenment faded as soon as I reached for it.
I looked successful on the outside, yet inside I was drained—guilt, shame, and loneliness growing heavier every year. Isaiah’s words describe that season perfectly: I was spending strength on what could never fill me. God wasn’t withholding truth; I was simply feeding on the wrong things. The day I finally stopped striving long enough to hear His voice, I realized that the “bread” my soul needed was already offered freely in Christ.
Today’s Steps
- Pause and ask: What am I chasing that still leaves me empty?
- Read Isaiah 55:1-3 slowly and replace “you” with your name—let the invitation feel personal.
- End the day with silence instead of screens; whisper, “Lord, speak, I’m listening.”
Prayer
“Father, forgive me for spending my energy on what doesn’t satisfy. Feed me with Your Word and teach me to delight in You. Let my heart rest from striving and find its fullness in Jesus. Amen.”
