Key Scripture
“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.’” – Isaiah 43:1 (NKJV)
Reflection Right before the breakthrough, I felt like I was going to crash down and never be heard from again. It is a terrifying precipice when your life flashes before your eyes and the sheer weight of the darkness feels absolute. You become convinced that you will be swallowed by the depths, entirely forgotten.
But deep in my heart, I always knew Jesus was Lord, even if I had never fully acknowledged it. When He stepped into that void, it was not just a distant comfort; it was an immediate, personal rescue. He called me by my specific name. In that exact second, the heavy veil of fear crashed down and was simply no more. I felt physically and spiritually lifted from the depths of darkness, and an overwhelming, overflowing peace took its place. I realized I was being given another chance.
When you are trapped in that valley, the Rescuer does not just watch from afar—He knocks on the door of your heart. If you feel like you are crashing down today, the response is simple but profound: put aside your pride, reach out your hand, and call on His name. He always hears you.
Today’s Steps
- Acknowledge His Lordship: Take a moment to verbally declare that Jesus is Lord over the specific fear or darkness you are facing right now.
- Put Aside the Pride: Identify one area where you have been too proud or too ashamed to ask for help, and intentionally surrender it to Him today.
- Reach Out Your Hand: Physically open your hands in prayer and ask Him to lift the heavy veil of anxiety, trusting that He is actively knocking on the door of your heart.
Prayer “Lord, thank You for stepping into my darkest moments when I felt like I would be forgotten forever. Thank You for calling me by name and lifting the veil of fear from my life. Forgive my pride and the times I failed to fully acknowledge Your lordship. Today, I reach out my hand to You. I receive Your overflowing peace and the second chance You have so graciously given me. Amen.”
Journal Prompt Think about a time when you felt like you were going to crash down and be forgotten. How does knowing that God calls you by name and actively knocks on the door of your heart change the way you view your current struggles? What pride do you need to put aside today to reach out to Him?
