“Revelation 3:20” The Seed That Would Not Die

Key Scripture
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” – Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)

Reflection

When Jesus first revealed Himself to me, something in me changed instantly. My life didn’t grow harder, it became clearer. For years I had searched for truth, for meaning, for the purpose behind creation, but I was blinded by deception. I was drawn to the world’s pleasures, the false light of spiritual illusions, and the lies whispered by the enemy. Yet even then, Jesus planted a seed in my heart that refused to die.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but the old ways began falling apart quickly. I had been exhausted from carrying the world on my back, desperate to escape the heaviness that was crushing me. Even before Christ saved me, something inside me was already rejecting the path I was walking. That was the seed, His seed, working silently in the soil of my soul.

After receiving saving grace, I began to understand: He had been watching over me all along. All those hidden moments I never told anyone about, He was there. In the last few years before my surrender, His knocking became louder, more intense, because He saw where my path was leading: into oblivion, into self-destruction, into darkness disguised as “spiritual growth.”

But the seed He planted would not die. It anchored me. It pulled me back. It made me question what I once accepted blindly.

To anyone who feels far from God but still senses a pull in their heart:
Test the spirits. Read the Scriptures. The truth will become clear. And when truth becomes clear, the chains fall off.

Jesus is the only One who can free you from fear, deception, and the decisions that lead to destruction. He stands at the door and knocks, sometimes softly, sometimes urgently, but always with love.

Today’s Steps

  • Read Revelation 3:20 slowly and imagine Jesus knocking at the door of your heart.
  • Identify one area of your life where God has been calling you away from darkness.
  • Ask Him to nurture the seed of truth He placed in you so it grows stronger every day.

Prayer

“Lord Jesus, thank You for planting a seed in my heart that no deception could destroy. Thank You for knocking, for calling, for protecting me even when I was far from You. Keep my heart open to Your voice and help me walk in Your truth alone. Amen.”
