“John 14:6” When Jesus Interrupts Our Plans

Key Scripture
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” – John 14:6 (NKJV)

Reflection

I can still remember the moment Jesus stepped in and interrupted my plans. It wasn’t confusion I felt, it was relief. Gratitude. Incomparable love. Deep in my heart, I had always known that Jesus is the Son of God, but I had wandered far from that truth. I was walking toward a path that promised light but led into darkness, and He stopped me before I went too far.

Looking back, I now see His mercy written across my entire story, the times I thought I wouldn’t make it, the times I didn’t know how I survived, the battles that ended only because He stepped in. His interruptions were never punishment; they were protection. He saved me not just from the enemy, but often from myself.

After that encounter, everything changed. The air felt different. Colors seemed brighter. My relationships shifted. My heart began to see the world not through pride or intellect, but through Scripture and prayer. That’s what happens when the Author of Life rewrites your story, your vision clears, and His peace becomes your foundation.

If your plans have fallen apart, don’t lose hope. Sometimes what feels like an ending is really a rescue. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel, and that Light is Jesus Christ.

Today’s Steps

  • Read John 14:1–6 and thank Jesus for every time He redirected your path.
  • Reflect on one “interruption” in your life that was really His protection.
  • Pray for discernment to see His hand even in the detours.

Prayer

“Lord Jesus, thank You for interrupting my plans and saving me from paths that would have destroyed me. Help me trust that Your way is always better, even when I don’t understand it. Teach me to follow You with gratitude and surrender. Amen.”

Journal Prompt

Can you think of a time when God closed a door that later made sense? How did His redirection protect or strengthen you?
